   Ha, I just found that too. I’ll bet you searched for a term/phrase such as ‘twitter down’, right? That’s how I discovered it. Did you click the link? Hilarious.

   You know why it was down? A guy I work with brought it down. He accidentally put a mail server into an infinite loop by sending a message with a single backtick (`) in the subject line. Amused by this, he posted something to Twitter to the effect of “Fear the power of a single ` !” and next thing you know, the Twitter web site was down. They’ve fixed the problem now, though.

   Theo Schlossnagle, a fellow Apache guy. When it shows “yes” the link takes you to his book about scalable internet architectures ;)
